Major new features of Arkeia Network Backup Software include:

• Advanced SAN Support - Media Server for SAN (MSS) option enables LAN-free backup for SAN environments. MSS will help to ease network congestion, allow dynamic sharing of SAN attached storage devices and will optimize SAN investments by allowing direct SAN connectivity of servers with critical data and of storage devices such as tape libraries.
• Remote Drive Management - Remote Drive Management (RDM) for LANs and WANs to centralize the management of remote servers & networks and to consolidate and share drives across the LAN. RDM also features enhanced support for remote/stand alone Windows servers.
• Disk-to-Disk-to-Tape - Innovative Disk-to-Disk-to-Tape (D2D2T) option to shorten backup and restore times and to create granular tiered storage policies.

Media Server for SAN begins at $1,000 per SAN attached server; Remote Drive Management begins at $500 per managed drive; and integrated VTL is free up to 1TB and is then priced based on VTL size starting at $2,500 up to 5TB. Disk-to-Disk-to-Tape will be available later in Q4 2006 and will start at $1,000 per backup server.
